I finally made it down to PDX and got to check out the Tanner Goods store. Tanner Goods makes some very nice canvas and leather items. I also appreciate that the store was well laid out and the sales people were helpful without being overbearing.
I have looked at Tanner Goods stuff before but until now I didn’t have a good feel for their entire line up. I have to say I am impressed with their stuff.
Their leather accessories surprised me. Their fit and finish was very good but at this price point that is to be expected. What really caught my eye was their thoughtful attention to purpose. They have created some luxury leather items targeting people’s passions. They have a gorgeous camera strap and a guitar strap that would enhance any photographer or guitarist’s day to day life. They make notebook covers for writers and luggage tags for travelers. I believe that you should invest in quality for the things that you touch every day. It’s good to see that Tanner Goods feels similarly.
One of the other things that caught my eye in this store was that they have a custom belt making station. This corner of the store has everything you would need to turn out a custom belt in minutes using the ready to go blank belts and the small bins of hardware. This is a unique touch in our modern off the rack world.
Tanner Goods makes some really solid canvas and leather bags. I like to see that they are branching out from the traditional duffels and backpacks into some more specialized carry. Their bike bag collection is particularly interesting. It certainly lends a classic feel to have a canvas and leather frame bag or seat bag strapped to your bike.
While this blog is focused on mens bags I will say that my female friend definitely coveted Tanner Goods’ Vanguard Saddle Bag
The bags that I checked out were of great quality. I am glad I got to see that Tanner Goods has great range. I am very much looking forward to doing a deep dive on one of their bags.
